The 25-year-old is the first and only Indian Formula 2 race winner and has recently completed three Formula 1 tests with McLaren.
A four-time Formula 2 race winner and multiple-time podium sitter, Daruvala has built on a swift rise up the junior formula ladder after stepping up to the Formula 3 in 2019, where he achieved two wins and finished third in the championship in his rookie year.
Ahead of his promotion to Formula 2 in 2021, Daruvala made an appearance in the F3 Asian Championship coming third for Indian outfit Mumbai Falcons, where he took three race wins and a further five podiums, as well as three pole positions and fastest laps.
The Indian driver partnered with home team Mahindra Racing ahead of Season 9, joining the team's roster as their test and reserve driver for the all-new GEN3 era.
This season has also seen Daruvala make his first official outing for the Mahindra squad at the Berlin Rookie Test, where he finished seventh overall from the day's running.
